Labour Support

As a Gentle Birth Practioner we believe that having a support person with you continuously, one who is confident, experienced, and expert in the use of pain relieving and labour enhancing techniques, improves outcomes and satisfaction for both you and your partner. Of course you want your experience to be as positive as possible. Research shows that the availability of support in labor can affect how you feel about your labor, yourself, your baby, and your partner. Labor support can help you avoid or reduce risks associated with interventions.

Benefits of labour support:

  • Is free to be continuously present

  • Knows your preferences, concerns, priorities

  • Understands and works to enhance emotional aspects of labor. Knows and uses comfort measures and strategies to promote progress.

  • Is able to remain calm and objective

  • Is responsible only to you
